Website audit for local businesses: a report that gets you a reply

By ULeads team · Published

ULeads Website Audit checks a local business's website in about two minutes — up to 68 checks in 11 areas, from the tap-to-call button and Google listing details to speed, local SEO and AI search — and turns them into a plain-English report with a 0–100 score and the three fixes that matter most, which you send as a link or a PDF with your name on it.

What does the website audit check?

Up to 68 checks in 11 sections. Each finding says what was measured, why it matters to a local business, what to do about it, and how much effort that takes. The overall score weighs the sections by how directly they cost the business enquiries: a missing call button counts for more than a missing link preview.

What the audit checks
SectionWhat it looks at
Getting enquiriesTap-to-call button, enquiry form, WhatsApp, online booking, prices, reviews on the site, a clickable email
MobileBuilt for phone screens, readable text, buttons big enough to tap
SpeedGoogle PageSpeed score on a phone and a computer, how fast the main content shows, layout shifts, page size, images, server response
Local SEOBusiness details marked up for Google; name, phone and address the same as on the Google listing; the town in the title; map; opening hours
On-page SEOTitle, description, main heading, subheadings, image descriptions, amount of text, link previews, page language
Technical healthHTTPS and redirects, one www version, broken links, robots.txt, sitemap, noindex, canonical address, duplicate titles, insecure content
Trust & securityCertificate, privacy policy, cookie consent, footer year, domain expiry and age
Google profile & competitorsRating, reviews and photos next to the strongest nearby competitors; whether the listing links the site (audits run from a lead)
Visibility on GooglePosition for “trade + town”, where measured
AI searchWhether ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Claude and Bing (Copilot) may read the site, whether it reads without JavaScript, business facts in structured data, llms.txt
Analytics & marketingVisitor analytics, ad tags, social profiles, the platform the site is built on

The site is read by our crawler, ULeadsBot, which follows robots.txt and visits the home page and up to 19 linked pages. Speed comes from Google PageSpeed Insights. Nothing is estimated: no traffic guesses and no invented revenue.

What does the business owner get?

  • A private link that opens on their phone without an account: the score, the three fixes to make first, and every finding with why it matters and how to fix it.
  • Your card next to the report: your name, headline, phone, email and recent work, with a Call button.
  • A PDF to keep or forward to whoever runs the site, with your name on the cover.
  • A “don't contact me” button that every ULeads user has to respect.

How do you use an audit to win a client?

  1. Find businesses with a weak website in a city and trade, ranked by Lead Score.
  2. Audit the best ones. From a lead, the report also puts its Google listing next to nearby competitors.
  3. Open with one finding, not a pitch: “I checked your site on my phone — there’s no call button, so people have to copy the number. Full report here.” ULeads drafts that first message for you.
  4. Watch for “Opened”. ULeads tells you when the owner reads the report, so you call while it’s fresh.

How is it different from an SEO audit tool?

Full SEO suites crawl thousands of pages and track backlinks and keyword rankings for SEO specialists. The ULeads audit is a sales document for a business owner: it looks at the handful of pages a local business has and at what loses it calls — no tap-to-call, a different phone number than on Google, a slow page on mobile data, a site AI assistants can't read — and says it in words the owner understands. It doesn't do backlink analysis, keyword tracking or traffic estimates.

How many audits come with each plan?

Website audits by plan
PlanPriceAudits a month
Free$01
Starter$29/mo10
Professional$79/mo50
Agency$199/mo200

Some audits are free: a site audited in the last 30 days opens straight away from saved results and isn’t counted, and neither is an audit that fails or of a site that doesn’t open. Opening, sharing and downloading a report you already have costs nothing. Compare plans.

Common questions

Is the report white-label?

Mostly. On paid plans the report carries your name, not ours: the business sees your name, headline, phone, email and recent work on the page and in the PDF. ULeads appears only where it has to — the link itself is on uleads.io, and the page has the “don't contact me” option and a note on how the site was read. Reports on the Free plan say “Made with ULeads Free”.

Can I audit a site that isn't one of my leads?

Yes. Paste any public website address. An audit run from a lead adds the Google listing and compares it with the strongest nearby competitors, which a bare address can't.

Does it work on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or Shopify sites?

Yes — any public website. The report also names the platform the site is built on, so you know what you would be working with.

Does AI write the findings?

No. Every line comes from a measurement: our crawler reading the pages, Google PageSpeed Insights, the site's certificate and domain record, and the Google listing. The AI search section checks whether AI assistants can read the site; it doesn't ask one.

What if the business doesn't want to hear from me?

Every report has a “don't contact me” button. Once pressed, nobody using ULeads can audit that business again or message it through ULeads.

How long does an audit take?

Usually one to three minutes. A site audited in the last 30 days opens straight away from the saved results, and that audit doesn't count against your plan.
