How to get a list of local businesses with no website and few reviews

By ULeads team · Published · 6 min read

To get a list of local businesses with no website and few reviews, search each town and trade in Google Maps data, keep the businesses without a website, then sort or filter by review count. ULeads gives name, category, address, phone, rating, reviews and why each is a lead; CSV and Excel export are on paid plans.

What does the list contain?

One row per business found on Google Maps, with the columns of the ULeads export — the same in CSV and Excel:

List columns
ColumnWhat it holds
NameThe business name as listed
CategoryIts main Google Maps category, such as Plumber or Hair salon
AddressThe full address
PhoneInternational format, where the listing has one
WebsiteEmpty when the business has no website
RatingAverage stars, empty when there is no rating yet
ReviewsNumber of reviews
PhotosNumber of photos on the listing
Lead Score0–100, higher means a weaker online presence
Why a leadThe weaknesses behind the score, e.g. “No website · 2 photos · 7 reviews”
Google MapsA link to the listing

You can see the exact format in the example export — the rows are fictional, the columns are real.

How do the usual requirements map to what the data can do?

Requests for this kind of list tend to look alike: businesses near a town, active on Google Maps, no website, fewer than some number of reviews, with name, category, address, phone and review count, across a handful of trades. Here is what each part becomes:

Request and what ULeads does
The requestWhat ULeads does
“No website”Exactly supported: switch the results to “No website”. In the export, the Website column is empty for these businesses.
“Fewer than 10 reviews”No exact review-count filter. “Fewer than 20 reviews” is one of the four weaknesses Lead Score counts and shows under “Why a lead”. For a stricter cut, sort by reviews, or filter the Reviews column of the export to 0–9.
“Within 50 miles of a town”No radius. ULeads searches the city you type, so cover an area by searching the main town and each town around it, one search each.
“Active on Google Maps”Every result is a business listed on Google Maps, but ULeads does not filter by opening status. Recent reviews and a phone number are good signs a business is trading; the Google Maps link lets you check before calling.
“Name, category, address, phone, review count”All included, plus rating, number of photos, Lead Score, the reasons it is a lead and a link to the listing.
“Trades, beauty, auto, cleaning, small restaurants, independent retailers”One search per trade per town. Six trades across five towns is thirty searches — the Starter plan's monthly allowance.

How do you build the list step by step?

Take a request centred on Brossard, Quebec, as an example:

  1. List the towns. Brossard, then the towns around it — Longueuil, Saint-Lambert, La Prairie, Candiac — as far out as you want to cover.
  2. List the trades. Use the words people search: plumbers, electricians, hair salons, auto repair, cleaning services, restaurants, gift shops.
  3. Run one search per town and trade, and switch the results to “No website”. Each search keeps going past the first page of results.
  4. Save or export. Save the businesses you want to your pipeline, or on a paid plan export each search to CSV or Excel.
  5. Combine and cut. Put the exports in one spreadsheet, remove duplicates by the Google Maps link, and filter Reviews to the threshold you want, such as 0–9.
  6. Check before contacting. Open the listing of each business you plan to call; recent reviews and a phone number are good signs it is trading.

What does it cost?

The Free plan runs one full search a month — up to 100 businesses — so you can see the list for one town and one trade, and save the businesses you want. Exports are on paid plans: Starter is $29 a month for 30 searches and 30 exports, Professional $79 for 150 of each, Agency $199 for 500. Payment is in crypto, one month at a time, with nothing renewing automatically. Details are on the pricing page.

Common questions

Can an AI assistant generate a list of businesses without a website?

Only if it is connected to current Google Maps data. Answering from memory, an assistant will produce businesses that may have closed, moved or built a website since — or never existed. Use it to plan which towns and trades to cover, and a data tool to fetch the actual list.

Does the list include email addresses?

No. Google Maps listings rarely show an email, and ULeads does not collect personal addresses. You get the phone number where the listing has one, the address and a link to the listing.

How many businesses does one search return?

Typically 20 to 80, depending on the town and trade: a search keeps going past the first page until it has found genuine prospects, so thin markets return more.

Will the same business appear twice?

It can, when neighbouring towns overlap. When you combine exports from several searches, remove duplicates using the Google Maps link column — it is unique per listing.

ULeads searches a city and a trade on Google Maps, keeps going past the first page until it finds real prospects, and ranks every business by how weak its online presence is.
